Il 13 gennaio ha avuto luogo, a Santa Monica, la 24° edizione dei Critics’ Choice Awards, premiando le migliori produzioni sia cinematografiche che televisive dell’anno appena trascorso.

Insieme ai Golden Globes, ambiscono ad essere “anticamera” dei tanto attesi Oscar, e insomma questo potrebbe essere un assaggio di ciò che ci aspetta nell’imminente notte dedicata agli Academy Awards.

Per quanto riguarda i film, Alfonso Cuarón con il suo intimo e delicato Roma, fresco di Golden Globe ha trionfato ancora portandosi a casa Miglior Film, Miglior Regista, Miglior Fotografia e Miglior Film Straniero, a discapito de La Favorita, che si accontenta del premio per la Miglior Attrice In Un Film Commedia per Olivia Colman e Miglior Cast Corale, nonostante il più alto numero di candidature.

Sul versante TV, a fare incetta sono soprattutto La Fantastica Signora Maisel (Miglior serie comica, Miglior attice in una serie comica per Rachel Brosnahan e Miglior attrice Non Protagonista In una Serie Comica per Alex Brostein) insieme a The Americans (Miglior Serie Drammatica, Miglior Attore In Una Serie Drammatica per Matthew Rhys e Miglior Attore Non Protagonista In Una Serie Drammatica per Noah Emmerich).
